About

Born in Portsmouth, NH, I have always grown up in New England with my parents and younger sister. Over the years I have been very fortunate to travel to many parts of the world opening me up to some incredible experiences. One of the best to date was in Spring 2008 when I spent four months studying in Edinburgh Scotland. It was great to meet all sorts of new people from all over the world, never mind the fact that I got to live in a foreign country! It was a wonderful experience that I will never forget.

Since I could walk, I have always been interested in electronics, which soon turned into an obsession with the computer. Typical story of a computer geek. Well I fit the category proudly. In the summer before my junior year of high school, I was out of a job and needed summer employment. For years I knew I wanted to some day own my own company. Well that day came a little early when I was driven to start Geoff Ness Computer Solutions in 2003. I started very small with only a few computer repair clients. It quickly grew in to a good-sized business that soon included web design in the mix. My father was gracious enough to donate a corner of his basement at his office to my new little company. It was in that corner I added the final piece of my business, web hosting.

I was soon working some fairly large jobs in both the web and network maintenance areas, which charged me even more to grow bigger. I was asked to work as an independent contractor for the city of Lawrence, Massachusetts where I was part of a team that implemented a new citywide network to all the public buildings.

Outside of my company I am very into my college and specifically in the area of student government. As only a sophomore, I was elected by the students to server as the Student Body Vice President. My jobs were extensive including such things as serving on search committees, be the liaison between the student body and the college president/faculty, plan and run school wide events and most importantly be the voice for the students. It taught me some great lessons in time management and how to run and manage a team focused on all working toward the same goal. I am happy to say that for my senior year, I was elected chairman of the student assembly in which I am responsible for overseeing the voting body of student government as well as running meetings etc.

Most importantly, my computer science degree has helped me prepare for the big IT world out there. Courses focused mostly on theory and scripting in designing new software programs.

With my college career's end in the near future, I have begun thinking about what the next step is in my life. I know some day soon my company will be my sole job but until then I hope to gain some corporate experience and learn a lot in the process.

As of summer 2008, Geoff Ness Computer Solutions will be changing names, developing a more serious business plan and be moving into a state of the art facility with the mindset of becoming a more serious and recognized IT provider in the greater seacoast area of New Hampshire. From this point forth, I will be the president of Nessit. I invite you to visit our website and have a look around at what we can offer. Thanks for stopping by!
